Domain deletion & auto-renewal (gTLD)
Auto-renewal
You can switch on auto-renewal for any of your gTLD domains. With it on, we'll renew your domain automatically using your account balance. If your balance isn't enough, we'll send you an email so you can renew manually instead.
Domain deletion
If you DON'T renew your domain before the expiration date, it expires. As soon as one day after expiration, your domain gets deactivated and shows a parking page. Other services you've tied to it (like email or your website) may stop working from that point on.
If you still don't renew, after about 40 days the domain enters the redemption period (some TLDs sooner). Want it back during that period? Then we charge a redemption fee on top of the renewal fee. You can find the rates here.
If your domain makes it through the redemption period without being reclaimed, the registry may hold it for another five days before releasing it again for general registration.
